Summer CampThe Children’s RE department's annual UU Church Summer Camp runs 9-11:30 a.m., June 27-July 1. The theme of this year’s camp is “The Everything Seed Revisited.” The camp will focus on our children’s role as part of a growing community engaged in creating a healthy human presence on the Earth; a presence that celebrates its relatedness to all things, loves everything on Earth as part of its family, and feels comfortably at home in the universe. The camp’s daily themes include Beginnings, Cycles of Life, Darkness and Light, Unfolding, and At Home in the Universe. The first portion of each camp morning consists of shared worship and learning, and the rest is filled with Montessori-style learning choices. We will have a naturalist room, a kinesthetic room, a fine arts room, a contemplatives/manipulatives room, and a scientific room. Campers are sure to find just the right niche, or they can try a little of everything. The camp includes those UU church children who are age 4 by June 27 through those entering fifth grade in fall 2011. Friends are welcome, but children new to our church community must be age 5 by June 27. Return completed official registration form to the church office or drop it in the folder on the Children’s Chapel bulletin board. We need to know how many children are coming in order to plan our activities. Thank you! |
